Maria is an amazing stylist! I was very bad at committing to a stylist until I met her. I haven't gone to anyone since! I'm also a VERY low maintenance hair prep person, but Maria listened to me and always gives me a cut and color that look amazing with very little work! I promise you that if you go to Maria, you will not EVER be disappointed! I can't wait to see her in her new place!

Maria gave me a spiral perm and fixed a very bad cut (from a different salon). I'm complimented on my curls almost daily! I believe the prices to be fair for the quality of service provided, the salon is clean, and Maria is great to chat with. It was a super comfortable experience from start to finish. Best salon ever!! Maria fixed everything! I had super damaged hair. She was able to not only repair the damage but she gave me a beautiful cut that blends in the broken chunk of hair that I had burnt off. I burnt off a good section of hair right in the front and you could never tell now! She is a miracle worker!!Thank you Shades & Shapes! I would recommend Maria to everyone!!

LOVE her! Maria is a true talent. It's rare to find a stylist / artist who has as much experience as she does who continues to keep up on the latest trends and with so much enthusiasm. Not only is Maria super talented, she's an amazingly genuine person. It's apparent when you are getting your hair done (or make-up/nails) at her salon that she takes pride in what she does. Her salon is impeccable and nicely updated (easy parking too). Recently had a keratin treatment done by Maria and she does a great job AND it was $100+ cheaper here than other local salons! Maria is a great conversationalist so you won't be bored getting your hair done here either! Win...win...win!

I went in looking for someone willing to tackle my disastrous hair and came out of the salon with confidence, warmth in my heart & a friendship I'll never loose! It took me a long time to find a salon I didn't feel anxious or out of place in.. I had done A LOT of research and tried multiple different salons around the Adams/Cumberland county area, read a lot of reviews and THANKLY FOUND MARIA AT SHAPES & SHADES SALON. She helped me work out a schedule to do my hair that worked around my family budget and she understands if I have to reschedule if things fall through. No hard feelings. After years of driving 2 hours to get my hair done a friend recommended Maria. I have very dark brown hair so i was reluctant to try a new salon . My past stylist couldn't reach the level of blonde that I wanted without damaging my hair or making it look "brassy." I was very nervous when the day came for my appointment. I screenshotted a pic off the internet and presented it to Maria hoping for something similar. Wonderful hospitality! Maria will make you feel like a whole new woman walking out of her salon. I am not exactly the easiest client to deal with, given multiple bad experiences at other salons. I asked for the most extreme thing from her. A platinum ombre with dark roots and a cut! Oh the cut...I was terrified but she took so much time to explain to me what all she was going to do. While she was working her magic she was explaining step by step what she was doing while she was doing it...like I said earlier not an easy clinet and she made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed. Mind you this was running into after hours..I knew she had places to go but she took her time and didnt rush. After 3 long hours chatting about life occurrences weather if they are happy or sad I walked out of there feeling refreshed, relaxed and BLONDE! SO BLONDE! My hair was all but brunette when I came to her and she made it happen! I have been to so many salons where i have told them what I wanted and payed ridiculous amounts of money for somthing that I didnt even want. THE MOST WONDERFUL THING! She made it all happen! Forever will be coming back for your good company and fabulous cosmo skills! Thank you so much Maria for making my vision come to life!
